Together with grant support office from Radboud University and Radboudumc and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) we explored the opportunities for HBS within Horizon Europe and prepared a workshop for the HBS scientific board members, which took place on the 14th of January, 2021. Before the workshop, the scientific board members submitted their research ideas, expertise, and current network. We prepared the workshop by matching these with the topics within “pillar II” (mission-driven research) of Horizon Europe. As most researchers are familiar with “pillar I” (discovery-driven research), the goal of the workshop was to show how to start a mission-driven research project. The main take-home message was to start with the impact of the research. In further, personalized meetings the scientific board members will be supported by grant support officers in their endeavors of setting-up a project in Horizon Europe.
